In the history of the Sigma Rho fraternity, varsity athletes of UP Diliman joined the frat not to be trained, disciplined and to endure the qualities of a Sigma Rhoan; lessons that they could never learn from their coaches alone, the usefulness of these values encompassed more than just the field of athletics.

1989, Sigma Rho 50th Anniversary
The Sigma Rho Fraternity was organized by some twelve idealistic junior law students of the UP College of Law at Padre Faura St., Manila. Attracted by its laudable objectives, especially in the field of scholarship, the cream of the UP Law studentry joined up and were initiated into the Fraternity. Among them were law freshmen students like Jovito R. Salonga, Pedro L. Yap and Manuel Montecillo who later topped the 1944, 1946, and 1949 bar examinations, respectively.

On May 26, 2011 Sigma Rho brods assisted in the Operation: Libreng Tuli at Brgy. UP Campus, Quezon City. Said operation is a joint project between the Sigma Rho Fraternity and Councilor Bong Suntay of District 4, Quezon City. The said health and medical program has been conducted regularly since 1998, providing free circumcision to over 2,000 boys yearly. Continue reading
